1. When are the city council meetings?

Generally, the regular city council meetings are the 1st and 3rd Monday's of every month and start at 7:00 p.m. in the council room at City Hall.

2. How do I run for city council?

Nominating petitions may be circulated every year in February for elections in April. The term for each alderman and the mayor is 2 years.

3. When will the surcharges on my bill discontinue?

No matter where you go in the nation, cities are implementing surcharges to pay for infrastructure projects. Please see this spreadsheet for the specific surcharges currently listed on the City of Miller utility bill; and, as always, please stop in, call, or come to a council meeting if you have questions. We are more than happy to help clear up any misconceptions or misunderstandings.

1. Where can I sign up for utility services?

Please stop in at the finance office at City Hall, under the water tower, to fill out the application for electric and/or water & sewer utilities. A deposit and social security number will be required.

2. How to sign up for Heating/Energy Assistance?

Heating/Energy Assistance is provided through the State of South Dakota Office of Energy Assistance.

1. Where is Crystal Park located?

3 blocks west of the highway on West 7th Street.

2. Are there camper hook ups at the campground in Crystal Park?

Yes. There are electric hook ups and a dump station. There are also bathrooms located near the dump station. No showers are available at this time.

3. Where are the ball fields located?

J.C. Terry Complex is just off Highway 45 on the south edge of city limits.

4. Where is the Municipal Swimming Pool

The Miller swimming pool is one block west of the water tower on West 1st Avenue.

1. Where is the police station located?

The police station is at 120 W. 1st St. It is in the far west end of the building shared with the water department. Look for the large "Police Department" sign on the building.
